personality.
She doesn't exactly have many close friends, and quite frankly, she seems to like it that way. Her philosophy is, the less people you know, the less people can hurt you. She doesn't need anyone. She is sarcastic and has a sharp tongue with a biting remark always at the end of it. She finds that it helps to keep would-be friends at bay. Somewhere though, she does have somewhat of a soft side, but after her experiences in high school, she doesn't care to bring it back.

Meg is a committed, dedicated, loyal person, and that can be very obviously seen by how dedicated and committed she if to her performing. Though she doesn't have any friends, the personality traits would probably spill over from her performing to those people. She isn't a complete social outcast, though. If someone were to approach her and could handle her tongue, she could have an intelligent conversation with the person. It just doesn't happen that often, as most people would rather be spending their time with.. friendlier people. This doesn't matter to her, though. The less interference with memorizing her lines, music and dance steps, the better.

She is strong-willed and independent, even going as far as defying her mother's orders to quit performing to live on her own in a run-down area, working two jobs just to pay her rent and tuition. Again, this ties into her philosophy - she doesn't need anyone to help her along.

biography.
Well, Meg, born Megara McCarthy, wasn't exactly a planned baby. Her mother wasn't emotionally ready to take care of a child, nor was her father. Her father had a high-stress job - he was a fireman - and he knew the risks. Her mother tried to convince him to stop, at least for a little while, but he refused, and it wasn't long before his job claimed his life. It was only two months before Meg was about to be born, but her mother knew that extreme emotional stress would hurt her baby, so she did he best to stay strong for that. After the birth of her baby, the effects of being a single mother, and with the death of her husband so fresh in her heart, she became a bit.. less stable than usual, and this had a negative impact on her job. So negative, in fact, that she got fired. Without emotional or financial support, her mother tried her best to make ends meet.

Meg's mother wasn't a bad woman, by any means. She raised Meg the best she could, given her circumstances. Her mother soon got a part time job at a grocery store and they were living from paycheck to paycheck, but Meg never complained. She had a roof over her head, food on the table, and was always clean and dressed - though maybe not in the most current of fashions.

From a young age, the little girl was very dramatic and had an interest in performing arts. She joined her school's choir in the third grade - the first year that she was able to - and by the time she was in middle school, had joined the drama club as well. Her mother was thrilled that she was interested in something, but was disappointed that it wasn't something that 'would give her a more stable future.' She was convinced that Meg would grow out of it, and was all but praying for it.

When Meg was in high school, she was still actively involved in the school's choir and drama club, and was working a part time job for money for dance lessons as well. But now, something besides performing had caught her interest, despite her better judgement - a boy. She tried so hard to resist it, but even though she had sworn off men for her whole life, she couldn't help be attracted to him. And he wasn't just ANY boy, no, he was the school's residential jock, two years older than her. You know, football in the fall, basketball in the winter, baseball in the spring? Yeah, that was him. Now, despite swearing off men, Meg was not an unattractive girl and had a bit of a flirty side to her. Once she mustered up enough courage to talk to him, he began to take notice of her, too. Of course, because of what 'group' she belonged to, his friends began to make fun of him. He didn't seem to care, though, and soon they were an official couple. Well, as official as any high school couple could be.

Despite their differences, the two seemed to mesh well together because of it. They spent every minute together that they weren't in their clubs or sports, and attended the other's functions, like performances and sporting events. She slowly began to lose the philosophy that all men were scum bags, and she slowly began to fall in love with him. They were together for two years when he finally graduated, and she was a junior. Because of his athletic abilities, he was offered a full football scholarship to a university that was, you guessed it, halfway across the country. Meg didn't care though, and they both vowed to make the relationship work. He would visit her whenever he could, she would visit him, and they would talk on the phone every night. Even though he was leaving, Meg was the happiest she had been in a long time.
